Nina has practiced yoga for more than 25 years. She completed her teacher training with Faeq Biria, Director of the Centre de Yoga Iyengar in Paris, and for many years, one of B.K.S. Iyengar’s foremost disciples in the West. She has taught in New York City, Australia, and at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in Maida Vale, London.
Until 1996, Nina was a classical ballet dancer, having trained at the School of American Ballet in New York. She danced with the San Francisco Ballet, and with companies in France and Montreal. While a student at SAB she also trained extensively in classical Pilates with the late Romana Kryzanowska, one of Joseph Pilates’s early students and his designated successor. She currently studies with Jessica Becker, a senior Iyengar teacher in Rhinebeck. Nina’s teaching style is careful, precise and thoughtful.
She now lives in Great Barrington.
